This is my first attempt on making a Matte painting. I have always admired how many great Matte painters as Dylan Cole, Raphael Lacoste and many more artist create there matte work. On how they are able to take us beholders to a journey, to a world that doesn’t exist with there super realistic Matte paintings. I’m amazed!
and a great fan.

For this Matte painting I used allot of references which I later on ended up doing a paint over because allot of them where references of sunny and dry environments. The stairs on the foreground was a picture taken by my girlfriend a couple of years ago when she was in Macau on vacation, which I also over painted and put grudge textures on and brick textures as ground. 50/50 painting and references. Hope you enjoy my Matte painting and any comments and critics are highly welcomed.
